Working on the third film of Guardians of the Galaxy franchise was an incredible experience. I initially joined the project as a set designer, focusing on parts of the Bowie ship. Thanks to the trust and support from Production Designer Beth Mickle, Supervising Art Director Alan Hook, and Dave Scott, I was given the opportunity to conceptualize the interior design of the Golden Ship.
When I began, the exterior of the ship had already been designed by the talented concept artist Fausto de Martini. Beth’s design brief was to infuse the interior with elements of jewelry design while staying true to the established exterior aesthetic.
A particularly exciting challenge was designing the entrance dome. I initially modeled it in Gravity Sketch and later refined the surface using Rhino and SolidWorks to ensure it was construction-friendly.  Special thanks to Art Director Alex McCaroll and the skilled SFX team lead by Dan Sudick for translating my concepts into a tangible set on stage.
